The TBM 1.2-40-W1/220V is a bleeder module manufactured for effective voltage control and safety applications. The device consists of a bleeder resistor and a chopper. It is installed within an automation line and is frequently used with the power supplies belonging to the TVM series. The system is used to supply adequate power supply to the connected systems. When the connected drives are run in generator mode, regenerative energy is produced that has to be channeled properly to protect the equipment from damage. The bleeder module's chopper is used to activate the resistor that provides a path for current to flow and dissipates the additional energy as heat. The auxiliary bleeder module is connected in a parallel circuit with the power supply modules. This model’s bleeder power is 40 kW.

The TBM 1.2-40-W1/220V comes with a blower fan that is used to speed up heat dissipation. This enables the device to operate at an optimum temperature and function without overheating. The device is used to discharge the capacitors that are fully charged after power is supplied to the connected drives. If the capacitors are not fully discharged, they can deliver an electric shock to the operating personnel or damage the equipment. This divide is multi-purpose and can be used for voltage regulation as well. The device decreases the difference between full load voltage and no-load voltage that significantly improves voltage regulation. The TBM 1.2-40-W1/220V is also used as a voltage divider and can provide multiple voltages to the connected systems.
