The SG-Y1.006.072-00.010 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the SG Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it converts current from a servo amplifier into precise mechanical motion for pick-and-place heads, high-speed spindles, and other positioning axes used in industrial automation. Its resolver provides rotor orientation so the associated controller can synchronize motion with the rest of the machine sequence. The motor’s sealed construction allows direct mounting on machine frames without secondary enclosures.

The rotor is rated for a nominal speed of 8800 rpm, allowing rapid cycle times in lightweight tooling applications. Permanent magnets made from SmCo supply stable flux even at elevated temperatures, and they are paired with a stator flange that measures 70 mm across to fit standard motor brackets. The IP65 housing limits the ingress of dust and water. Installation follows the IM B5 basic mounting form, with vertical shaft orientations V1 and V3 also permitted. A resolver mounted on the rear end bell sends rotor position and spindle speed information to the drive, while Accuracy R machining of the flange maintains concentric alignment. Heat produced by copper losses leaves the frame through thermal radiation and natural convection, and vibration remains within Grade N limits to protect attached bearings and feedback components.

The unit operates in ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C and uses Class F varnish insulation to protect the windings against the permitted temperature rise. It is supplied without a holding brake, so applications that require static shaft locking must use an external brake or mechanical clamp. Power and feedback cables connect through a mating plug that accepts conductors up to 1.5 mm². Torque is transferred through a shaft with a keyway and feather key in accordance with DIN 6885. The steel shaft measures 11 mm in diameter and has an insertion length of 23 mm.
