The SG-B2.050.038-03.000 synchronous servo motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the SG Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed as a compact rotary actuator, it converts precisely modulated current from a servo drive into controlled torque and speed for pick-and-place units, indexing tables, and other automated axes. Its mechanical interface follows the IEC metric layout, simplifying installation alongside gearboxes and couplings in industrial equipment.

At its rated operating point, the motor reaches a nominal speed of 4300 rpm, which is its steady-state angular velocity under continuous load. When held motionless, it can deliver a standstill torque of 4.7 Nm while drawing a standstill current of 9.5 A; these values help size the drive for holding and low-speed operation. The electromagnetic system produces a holding torque of 6.0 Nm once the built-in 13 W permanent-magnet brake is engaged, and the brake coil accepts a supply of 24 V DC ±10%. With a torque factor of 0.54 Nm/A, each ampere commanded by the inverter produces more than half a newton-meter, which supports predictable drive response. The Ø19 × 40 mm shaft transmits this torque through a keyed interface, and the keyway and featherkey arrangement prevents slippage during rapid reversals.

A square mounting flange of 100 mm centers the housing, and the overall length of 193 mm keeps the assembly short for tight machine frames. The rotor inertia of 0.260 × 10⁻³ kg·m² supports fast acceleration without demanding excessive current, while a permissible axial load of 150 N protects the bearings against thrust from belt drives or helical gears. Environmental sealing to IP65 blocks dust and water jets so the motor can be installed outside a cabinet. Position feedback is provided by a brushless resolver, allowing the controller to obtain rotor angle feedback in high-temperature areas where optical encoders may be less suitable.
