Product Description:
The SG-A2.050.038-00.000 is a brushless servo motor built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the SG Synchronous Servo Motors series. In factory automation, this unit converts electrical drive commands into controlled rotary motion for positioning spindles, indexing tables, or auxiliary axes. By integrating a resolver for rotor orientation, it aligns the shaft position with drive commands, providing deterministic control over torque and speed. The compact frame and IM B5 face allow direct coupling to gear stages or belt drives.
At standstill, the motor delivers 4.7 Nm of static torque with a current of 9.5 A, allowing the drive power stage to be sized for that load point. Once energized, the rotor can reach a nominal speed of 4300 rpm, providing rapid cycle times in material-handling equipment. The mechanical interface has a 100 mm square flange machined to accuracy class N, while vibration grade N helps protect precision bearings. Output torque is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway and feather key in accordance with DIN 6885. The shaft journal measures 19 mm in diameter and extends 40 mm to accommodate standard couplings. Power and feedback lines attach through a mating connector designed for 1.5 mm² conductors. The motor may also be installed vertically in the IM V1 or IM V3 orientation when required.
The winding system uses insulation class F, and the sealed IP 65 housing protects the stator from airborne dust and low-pressure water jets. Heat is removed through thermal radiation and natural convection, supporting operation at ambient temperatures from 0 to 40 °C. Permanent magnets made from SmCo maintain flux density across broad temperature changes and resist demagnetization. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so vertical loads must be restrained by an external braking or locking mechanism when power is removed. The natural cooling method also eliminates the need for an auxiliary fan or a separate liquid-cooling circuit.
