As a permanently excited rotary actuator, it converts electrical power from a matched drive into controlled mechanical shaft motion for indexing tables, packaging lines, and other automated stations in industrial settings. Its permanently excited design supports responsive torque delivery for accurate starts, stops, and positioning in automated equipment.

For electrical integration, the motor connects to the drive through a plug-in terminal system that simplifies wiring at the machine. Its intermediate circuit requires 670 VDC on the DC link, allowing the drive to deliver energy without step-up converters. When the shaft is free to rotate, the rotor can sustain a rated speed of 3000 rpm, so speed regulation loops may be closed at standard servo controller frequencies.
