The unit’s F7 resistor elements are arranged in a dual stack and wired in parallel so that the heat load is divided between two identical paths. This arrangement keeps the overall dimensions compatible with standard enclosure layouts while distributing thermal stress across both elements.
The resistor network is rated for continuous power dissipation of 160 kW, which is the maximum thermal load it can carry during steady braking sequences without exceeding material limits. Its short-duty power rating is 144 kW, which applies during brief braking events such as emergency stops or rapid indexing moves. An operating factor of 40% SD permits the resistor to dissipate energy for 40 percent of each duty cycle, leaving the remaining time for cooling.
