The RZW03.1-090-015 is a braking resistor built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZW Braking Resistors series. In regenerative or rapid-deceleration drive systems, this component converts surplus kinetic energy from the DC bus into heat so the inverter can keep the DC voltage within safe limits. It is intended for panel or cabinet mounting in industrial automation lines where controlled motor stopping is required.
This model is rated for 90 kW of thermal dissipation during each duty cycle. Its fixed resistance of 3.3 Ω determines the current that flows when the drive diverts energy into the resistor network. The unit may be energized for a maximum of 18 s and must remain de-energized for 102 s. This timing pair corresponds to a 120-second load cycle and an operating factor of 15% SD. A conductor cross-section of 50 mm² is recommended so the wiring can handle peak braking currents without excessive heating.
