The RZW03.1-011-025 is a compact and lightweight braking resistor designed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat to protect drive controller units from excess heat generated during motor deceleration. This converter is specifically intended to be used with controllers belonging to the RD 500 series; it has a power classification of 11 kilowatts and maintains a switching duty of approximately 25 per cent. During motor deceleration, the excess heat transmitted into the drive controller is sent to this resistor unit, where it is promptly converted into heat. Although the resistor does not have an internal air blower, it is intended to be installed directly above the controller housing, where air blowing is utilized for cooling operations. The actual resistive element in the RZW03.1-011-025 braking resistor is installed inside an insulating ceramic material with an excellent heat conduction property. The insulating material is also produced from non-flammable metals.
