The RZW02.1-110-040 braking resistor is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZW Braking Resistors series. Within the platform, it belongs to design 1 of line 2, which establishes its mounting geometry and terminal arrangement. The module is wired across the DC link of Rexroth drive converters, where it transforms regenerated kinetic energy into controlled heat dissipation. This process helps prevent overvoltage faults during rapid deceleration or when controlling downward-moving loads in industrial automation cells.
Rated for continuous absorption of 110 kW, the unit can handle substantial braking energy from high-inertia axes. Its fixed resistance of 2.7 Ω determines the peak discharge current, and connected drives must maintain a minimum permissible resistance of 2.5 Ω when multiple resistors are arranged in parallel.
