Product Description:

The RZW02.1-055-025 augmented braking resistor is a product of Bosch Rexroth Indramat that is designed to improve the operational reliability and stability of the servo system but efficiently handle the excess electrical energy sent into the servo system during the deceleration of connected motors. This braking resistor unit is able to handle the high motor regeneration energy levels that is often encountered in applications featuring large operation inertial masses. Although this product is flexible enough to be used in various applications, it should only be connected to frequency converters that are equipped with brake choppers of the B and F type. For operators that have frequency converters belonging to the RD 500 product series, it is possible to configure this converter to protect this resistor from overload damage through the monitoring function present in the firmware of the drive. The relative switch-on duration of this product is based on a lead cycle of 120 seconds.

The power data of frequency converters compatible with this device is determined to be about 55 kilowatts; the product also has an operating factor of about 25 per cent of the switch on duration. The minimum cable resistance value of this product is 6 ohms, while the peak power output is about 50 kilowatts. There is a type label delivered with this product; the type label contains identification information such as order number, operating factor, power rating, and the thermal time constant of the product, which is about 100seconds.

During operation, the surface temperature of the RZW02.1-055-025 can reach 80 degree Celsius. Although this product has a robust design that is fit for industrial environments, it should not be exposed to dust, humidity or extreme vibrations. Operators are advised to install the product into a control cabinet before operation.
