The RZW02.1-037-060 braking resistor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZW Braking Resistors series. The product is design 1 within line 2 of the series and connects to the DC link of Indramat inverter systems. It absorbs regenerated energy from an AC drive’s DC bus and converts that energy into heat during motor deceleration. This process helps prevent DC-bus overvoltage in industrial automation systems when a connected motor slows down or stops. The resistor is suitable for applications in which regenerative energy cannot be returned to the power supply or stored elsewhere in the drive system.
This model is rated for continuous power dissipation of 37 kW, indicating how much electrical power it can convert into heat during braking. Its element resistance is 7.2 Ω, and the minimum connectable resistance is 7 Ω, making the unit compatible with drive modules that operate on 600 V DC links.
