This passively cooled module connects across the DC link of a drive controller and converts kinetic energy returned by a motor into heat rather than allowing the bus voltage to rise. By providing a controlled outlet for regenerated energy, it supports rapid deceleration and helps prevent overvoltage trips in production lines, material-handling systems, and other industrial automation applications. The resistor operates without active cooling components, so its installation must allow sufficient space for heat to dissipate into the surrounding air.
The unit has a continuous rating of 37 kW and a separate rapid-stop rating of 33 kW.
