The RZW02.1-030-060 is a braking resistor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZW Braking Resistors series. Installed on the DC bus of a servo inverter, it converts regenerative electrical energy produced during rapid motor deceleration into heat so that the intermediate-circuit voltage remains within acceptable limits. This function protects the drive electronics from excessive voltage and supports controlled braking in conveyors, presses, and other automated equipment with frequent overhauling loads. The resistor is intended for installation as part of a compatible drive system rather than as a stand-alone braking device.
The resistor can absorb up to 30 kW of electrical power, making it suitable for medium-power, multi-axis systems. Its base resistance of 11 Ω controls the current drawn during each braking event and affects the rate at which regenerated energy is dissipated.
