Product Description:

The RZW02.1-005-060 is a robust braking resistor built to improve the operation stability of industrial converters by gracefully receiving and converting the excess current generated during motor deceleration into heat energy, which can be easily dissipated. This resistor is designed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It has a higher power output compared to conventional resistor designs and is able to maintain high operation performance over an impressively long time. This resistor comes with a resistive element design that is not flammable and provides industrial systems with additional fire protection even in the presence of high regenerative energy. The non-flammability of this product is due to the incorporation of its resistive element in special ceramic material with high insulating power. The product also comes in an aluminum housing with an unrivalled thermal conduction property.

The RZW02.1-005-060 maintains a power time constant of 100 seconds during operation. Also, the power data of the connected frequency converter should be about 5.5 kilowatts. Before this product is approved for delivery, it is tested and certified by an independent laboratory; the resistor is delivered with a type label carrying important identification information about the product. It is possible for more than one braking resistor to be used together; however, this will require the appropriate installation as defined in the documentation delivered with the product.

The RZW02.1-005-060 braking resistor requires a grounded connected with a diameter of at least 10 millimeters square. To ensure the long-lasting and high-performance operation of this product, operators are required to ensure that the ambient temperature around the resistor is maintained between 0 to 40 degrees; water condensation should also be eliminated completely. The operation of this product might increase its surrounding ambient temperature, and heat-sensitive applications should be kept away from it when it is in use.
