The RZW02.1-001-040 braking resistor is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as a member of the RZW Braking Resistors series. It is supplied in Design 1 on Line 2 and uses resistor type A2. Installed across the intermediate DC link of a drive controller, the device converts surplus electrical energy into heat during rapid stopping or load reversals. This dissipation helps the connected inverter maintain a safe bus voltage when regenerated energy returns from the motor.
The resistor has a nominal resistance of 120 Ω, and the total resistance of the braking circuit must not fall below the minimum connectable value of 30 Ω.
