The RZS01.1-5-024 sinusoidal filter is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RZS Sinusoidal Filters series. Positioned on the output side of inverter-fed motors, the unit smooths the switching waveform so the motor terminals receive a near-sinusoidal voltage, reducing dielectric stress and acoustic noise in industrial automation systems. It mounts close to compatible converters and forms a passive harmonic stage that complements the active drive.

The filter operates on a line-to-line supply of 3 x AC 500 V, allowing it to work on typical 400 V class installations that include a safety margin for overvoltage events. Its nominal conduction path is rated for 24 A, so a single module can carry the full motor phase current of medium-sized converters without saturation. The L-C network is tuned for a fundamental range of 0 ... 100 Hz, which means the filter maintains low distortion from standstill up to standard machine speeds. Internally, the core material and winding layout are selected to handle a carrier frequency of 8 kHz produced by modern IGBTs; above this point, attenuation quickly rises and minimizes differential noise. Voltage can fluctuate by ±10 % from nominal without forcing derating, giving flexibility in facilities where mains stability is not ideal.

Within product line 01, the filter is matched to drive units in power class 015 / 018, so it can be paired directly with converters that deliver up to 18 kVA without recalculating impedance. The design guarantees a clean sine at the filter output up to the stated ceiling of 100 Hz, enabling full-speed operation on four-pole motors while still suppressing dv/dt. Steady-state power loss is 140 W, so cabinet ventilation must remove this heat to keep winding temperatures within their limit curves. Mechanical layout follows Design Version 1, providing uniform mounting hole patterns and conductor clearances across the RZS family and simplifying panel wiring.
