Product Description:
The RZK01.1-315-NN is an air-to-air heat exchanger produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RZK Heat Exchangers series. It removes waste heat from drive controllers and other cabinet electronics while keeping contaminants outside the enclosure. By maintaining stable internal temperatures, the unit helps avoid thermal shutdowns in automated machining cells, packaging lines, and material-handling systems. Its exchanger core transfers heat between separate air paths, so cabinet air and ambient plant air do not mix during operation. Dual fans support steady airflow across the core during continuous production shifts.
Two cooling circuits supply a combined capacity of 2 x 4 kW for cabinet heat removal under rated conditions. Each fan draws power from a single-phase 1 AC 230 V feed, so installation only requires a standard mains connection. Because it is intended for outside-cabinet mounting, exhaust air is discharged directly to the surrounding plant area while the electronics remain inside a closed enclosure. The housing meets IP20, which provides basic protection against accidental contact with live parts. Control wiring can be routed up to 5 m between the exchanger and its associated drive, which helps when cabinets are arranged with some spacing along a production line. The design omits a built-in brake resistor, so excess regenerative energy must be absorbed by the connected drive or an external resistor bank.
A lower clearance of 100 mm helps maintain unrestricted inlet airflow, and a headroom of 200 mm reduces the chance of hot air recirculating above the outlets. Four mounting slots accept M8 hardware for fastening the unit to cabinet walls or steel framing. The complete assembly weighs 2 x 16 kg, so the supporting structure must accommodate the load of both sections during mounting and operation. Keeping the specified free space around the housing also helps the fans move air evenly through the exchanger core. This layout supports reliable cooling performance without opening the electrical enclosure to airborne dust or plant debris.
