Product Description:
The RZK01.1-315-BW is a heat exchanger assembly produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RZK Heat Exchangers series. Installed outside a control cabinet, it transfers excess heat from converter stacks to the surrounding air and helps maintain stable temperatures for high-power drive systems in industrial automation. This arrangement moves heat away from the enclosure interior and supports reliable operation during sustained drive loading.
The module contains two braking resistors rated at 2 x 2.2 Ω, and these resistors dissipate regenerative energy from decelerating servo axes as heat. Each integrated heat exchanger provides 2 x 4 kW of cooling power, allowing the unit to remove substantial thermal load during operation. An enclosure rating of IP20 provides basic finger protection, so the unit must be mounted in a restricted area rather than in exposed locations. The thermal time constant is 13.6 s, which means the assembly reaches 63% of its final temperature in that interval after a load step. During rapid braking events, it can absorb peaks up to 2 x 270 kW for 0.1 s, which helps prevent overvoltage on the DC link. Electrical connections use a 4 × 16 mm² bus-bar line section and a matching 2 × 16 mm² ground conductor, both routed with NSGAFÖU silicone-insulated cable. The size class H places the unit among large converters in the series, and two exchangers operate in parallel to divide the thermal load.
With a power class of 315 kW, the assembly supports multi-axis installations that draw high continuous currents. Its surface temperature is limited to 80 °C, so surrounding wiring and cabinet materials must be rated for that heat level. Service handling is supported by a pair of exchanger cores that weigh 2 x 16 kg. Installation must preserve a top clearance of 200 mm to maintain unrestricted airflow above the unit. Outside-cabinet mounting helps keep heat away from the main enclosure and leaves internal cabinet space available for the drive hardware.
