The RZK01.1-160-NN heat exchanger is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RZK Heat Exchangers series. It is supplied as a self-contained thermal management module for drive cabinets equipped with high-power inverters. By forcing cooler ambient air through a separate channel and exhausting warm enclosure air, the device stabilizes the temperature of sensitive power electronics used in continuous industrial automation duty. Because it is mounted outside the cabinet, valuable interior space remains available for control hardware while the exchanger works without exposing components to airborne contaminants.

The unit can remove up to 4 kW of waste heat, aligning it with inverter groups whose electrical output is as high as 160 kW. Connection to the cabinet is accomplished with a shielded power and signal harness that may be extended to a maximum of 5 m, allowing flexible placement along the panel wall. Mechanical integration is straightforward: the exchanger’s frame presents a mounting height of 230 mm between the fixing rails, and each rail is drilled for standard M8 bolts, so existing support brackets in many cabinets can be reused without modification. These limits keep cable routing and cabinet placement within the intended installation range.

For correct airflow, the top of the housing must remain at least 200 mm clear of obstructions, and the base spans a mounting width of 520 mm. Overall depth is only 350 mm, so the exchanger projects minimally from the panel surface yet still provides a fin package tall enough to reach an overall height of 340 mm and a face width of 542 mm. An enclosure classification of IP20 indicates protection against solid objects larger than 12 mm while avoiding direct water exposure. With a mass of 16 kg, the unit is suited for fixed external mounting on the cabinet wall.
