Product Description:
The RZK01.1-160-BW is an internal heat exchanger designed for outside cabinet mounting. Heat exchangers, which are used to transfer heat between two or more fluids, are used for both heating and cooling processes. The RZK01.1-160-BW is designed for use with RD 500 drives and converters. More than one converter can be connected to the heat exchanger as long as the total converter losses do not exceed the cooling power capability of the heat exchanger. The RZK01.1-160-BW is designed for used with converters rated for 160 kilowatts and offers cooling power of 4 kilowatts. The exchanger has an integrated brake resistor. The specifications for the brake resistor include resistance of 2.2 Ohms. nominal power of 2 kilowatts, peak power of 270 kilowatts and thermal time constant of 13.6 seconds. The peak power of the braking resistor is avaible for 0.1 seconds only.
The braking resistor on the device is exposed. Personnel working on the heat exchanger should take extreme care to not come into contact with the hot surface of the resistor or the heat exchanger while they are in operation. Bosch recommends allowing the device and associated machinery to cool for a minimum duration of 10 minutes before performing any maintenance related activity. Environmental protection class of the RZK01.1-160-BW is IP20. This rating implies that while the heat exchanger is not protected against liquid ingress, it does offer protection against ingress of solid objects with 12 millimeter dimensions. Therefore the device should be used indoors where it will get the required level of protection from liquids and dust. The converter connected to the RZK01.1-160-BW should have the P0036 parameter set to “Standard” (the factory default setting).
