RZF Line Filters

The RZF line filters are radio interference filters used with Bosch Rexroth RD500 frequency converters to reduce conducted noise so installations can meet stricter EMC limits for first-environment use, including residential-area limits.

They are specified for 3-phase AC 380–480 V (±10%) systems and are offered in sizes matched to RD500 power classes from 1.5 kW up to 110 kW. The series includes multiple filter sizes with corresponding current ratings that are derated as switching frequency increases, with published nominal-current values at 4 kHz, 10 kHz, and 12 kHz. Application limits include maximum connectable line lengths that vary by pulse frequency, and shielded motor cables are required to maintain the EMC limit values. Common series requirements include IP20 protection (without terminals), operation in environmental class 3K3 at 0 to 40 °C ambient temperature, and careful EMC-grounded installation with secure grounding before first energization.
