The RD51.1-5N-001-L-C1-FW is a model of the RD 51 drive converters in the universal RD 500 drive system. Its rated power output is 5kW, and it supports operation at varying pulse width modulation frequencies for different levels of output. The supported frequency values are 4kHz, 8kHz, and 12kHz. This converter complies with the EMC Directive on noise immunity and noise emission according to EN 61800-3 and IEC 1800-3. This is due to the presence of an integrated radio interference suppression filter and line reactor, which reduces the harmonics fed back into the line supply.

Control cabinets house the RD51.1-5N-001-L-C1-FW with other RD 500 drive system units. Like other components of the system, the converter has a 22.5mm mechanical grid pattern that allows it to be mounted side by side with other units. It can be operated remotely with the RDWin software by Bosch Rexroth or on-site with its standard control panel. The control panel has features like the copy function for simplified data transfer and the fault acknowledge function to protect the converter from potentially harmful faults. In addition, this RD 51 converter model has the start inhibitor function to protect it from accidental starting.
