The components of the universal RD 500 drive system include AC drive converters, inverters for DC supply, and rectifier and supply modules. This three-phase drive system is designed for various synchronous and induction motors. It is built with a modular configuration that allows it to be tailored to specific applications as required by the user. It is easy to commission and handle using its operator panel with a graphical display or the high-performance RDwin software package for PC by Bosch Rexroth.

The RD51.1-4N-037-L-V1-FW uses the voltage frequency control method for motion control within the RD 500 drive system. It is a converter model in the drive system whose power rating is 37kW. The recommended nominal voltage for its connection is a three-phase AC voltage between limits of 380V and 480V with a tolerance of ±10%. The cooling mode for the converter is forced air cooling, and its cooling air requirement is 0.2m³/s. It cannot be damaged by the penetration of external solid bodies with diameters of 12mm or more as it belongs to the IP 20 protection category according to EN 60529. It is not protected against jets of water.

The operation of the RD51.1-4N-037-L-V1-FW at variable pulse modulation frequencies is allowed with a frequency value up to 12kHz. It belongs to Size Class C and has integrated radio interference suppression filters and line reactors. These are necessary for the product to comply with the EMC Directives on noise immunity and emission. Otherwise, harmonics will be fed back into the line supply of the converter. The converter also supports the use of firmware which is ordered separately. This product can be shipped globally with a one year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
