Product Description:
The RME12.2-16-AC115 is an input expansion module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. It translates on-machine sensor contacts into conditioned signals that the associated drive controller can interpret. By positioning this device next to power stages, the module keeps wiring short, reduces electromagnetic pickup, and centralizes diagnostics within the drive rack. Its functional role is to accept multiple alternating-current inputs, monitor their status in real time, and forward logical states to motion or process tasks that synchronize axes, actuators, and safety interlocks.
The module is designed for a nominal control supply of 115 V AC, matching standard plant power rails. Its internal circuitry monitors the mains at a synchronized 60 Hz, so timing of zero-cross detection remains predictable when assessing AC-driven limit switches. Each energized input sinks less than 15 mA, minimizing load on upstream devices and keeping panel heat low. A low state is asserted whenever the incoming potential falls below 35 V AC, providing a clear noise margin in facilities with inductive loads. Signal capacity is provided through 2 × 8 inputs arranged on pluggable terminal blocks. The housing snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail, allowing the board to be installed beside other RECO modules without special brackets.
Cabinet layout is simplified by the compact enclosure. The height is 192 mm, the width is 41.3 mm, and the depth is 81 mm. Several units can be lined up in one cabinet without adding much panel mass because each module weighs just 300 g. The shallow profile leaves clearance for airflow behind the rail, and the low mass reduces vibration loading on adjacent electronics during machine operation. This compact form helps preserve room for wire bends and neighboring modules in distributed drive cabinets.
