The RME02.2-16-AC115 is a discrete input module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RECO Drive Modules series. Mounted in the backplane of a drive rack, it converts plant-level contact signals into logic levels that the drive controller can process during normal machine operation. This arrangement permits start, stop, and safety interlocks to be wired directly from field devices while maintaining galvanic separation between the machine wiring and the electronics inside the cabinet.

The module provides 16 inputs arranged as two groups of eight, allowing related signals to be organized on one card. Each channel is rated for a nominal line voltage of 115 V AC at the standard mains frequency of 60 Hz, so the card can be powered from common control transformers without additional converters. When a contact closes, the circuit draws less than 15 mA, which minimizes heat dissipation and reduces loading on upstream switches. Open contacts are recognized reliably because the low-state threshold sits below 35 V AC. The input stage is electrically separated from the logic bus, preventing noise or fault voltages on the field side from reaching sensitive backplane circuitry. This allows the module to handle mixed relay, selector, or limit-switch signals while maintaining insulation for industrial panels.

Compact mechanics simplify cabinet layout. The faceplate height is 192 mm, the width is 41.3 mm, and the card extends only 81 mm into the rack, leaving clearance for airflow behind neighboring devices in dense assemblies. With a mass of just 300 g, the board adds very little load to DIN rails or card guides, which is useful in systems exposed to vibration or frequent service access. The 2 × 8 terminal arrangement places screw connectors at the card edge for orderly wire routing and clear separation between the two input groups.
