The RMC12.2-2E-1A is an analog I/O module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. Installed on a RECO backplane, it conditions low-level process signals so drive controllers or higher-level PLCs can read sensor data and send proportional commands. In industrial automation, the module converts field-side voltages, currents, and temperature probe signals into synchronized digital words that can be exchanged across the INTERBUS network in real time.

This module provides 2 input channels that are isolated from the logic supply and from each other, plus 1 output channel with the same separation. Channel isolation relies on optocoupler isolation, which helps block ground loops between field wiring and the bus. Signal conversion occurs in step with INTERBUS cycle synchronization, which helps prevent timing skew between modules on the ring. The bipolar inputs support an input range of ±10 V or a current range of ±20 mA. Two onboard shunt networks provide 20 kΩ impedance for external voltage sources and 2 kΩ for the internal current source. The output circuitry can source or sink up to ±10 V for remote analog devices, and the electronics are enclosed in an IP20 housing intended for cabinet mounting where finger protection is sufficient.

Temperature measurement is supported through a DIN Pt100 path that covers -100 °C to 850 °C, allowing the same card to monitor very low and very high process temperatures without changing ranges. The module measures 41.3 mm in width, 214 mm in height, and 81 mm in depth, so it can share rack space with other RECO modules while still leaving room for plug-in screw terminals. Input, output, and bus isolation are maintained across the module, which helps it operate reliably when connected sensors and controlled devices sit at different common potentials.
