This arrangement keeps the control side electrically separate from the load side while placing switching hardware close to the machine devices.

The module communicates with a bus coupler that supports INTERBUS, which transfers status and command words between the PLC and the slice. Load isolation is provided by a floating relay design, so each output remains galvanically separated from controller ground and can be wired in two independent groups of 2 x 8 channels. Every relay contact can deliver up to 200 W maximum to its assigned device as long as the logic side applies the required Active 1 level, which means a high signal energizes the coil. This layout supports mixed-voltage distribution across separate output groups. Individual circuits can be isolated without affecting adjacent channels. Relay-based switching also suits loads that should not share a direct electrical reference with the control electronics.
