Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the RMA02.2-16-RE230-200, an output relay cartridge in the RECO Drive Modules series. Installed in a RECO rack, it interfaces the controller backplane with field devices that require isolated power switching. By converting low-level logic signals into relay closures, the unit allows programmable automation controllers to energize solenoids, contactors, and indicator circuits while maintaining electrical separation between the drive electronics and the load side. This arrangement lets the control section switch field circuits without placing line voltage directly on sensitive backplane connections. It is suited to automation assemblies where relay outputs are needed for auxiliary devices rather than direct power conversion.

The module supplies each channel with an allowable line potential of 230 Veff, and the switching element is a potential-free relay contact that keeps control logic isolated from the load circuit. Short-duration loads may draw up to 2.0 A, while continuous dissipation must stay within 50 W to avoid exceeding the relay's thermal rating. There are 16 outputs arranged as two groups of 8, which helps separate redundant or sequential functions in the rack. The contact set can interrupt either AC or DC circuits, and the backplane assigns the outputs to two isolation groups so one bank can be checked without affecting the other. This grouped layout also helps keep field wiring organized when different relay channels are used for indication, interlocks, or auxiliary switching tasks.

The housing has a depth of 81 mm, a width of 41.3 mm, and a height of 192 mm. Its slim profile supports dense cabinet layouts and lets the cartridge slide into standard RECO frames without obstructing adjacent modules. Reliable contact wetting is ensured once the load draws at least 5 mA, so the module can switch low-power sensor loops as well as higher-energy actuators. The low minimum load requirement also supports stable operation in control circuits that use small signaling currents instead of heavier power loads.
