The RMA02.1-32-DC024-050 digital output unit is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for installation in RECO Drive Modules series racks. Designed as an interface between the controller and 24-volt field devices, the module distributes logic-level switching signals to actuators such as contactors, small solenoids, and indicator lamps. By housing 32 transistorized outputs in a single card, it supports scalable automation where drive electronics and discrete I/O coexist on the same backplane. Its purpose inside an Indramat motion system is to forward command states generated by the central processor to external machine elements, ensuring coordinated on and off sequences that follow axis movements.
Electrical interfacing is carried out through four multipole connectors that simplify installation. Each channel can deliver up to 0.5 A per output, allowing direct drive of low-power loads without interposing relays. The card accepts an external 24 VDC supply and routes the same potential to the load side as a switched 24 VDC output, so only one auxiliary supply needs to be provided in the cabinet. Output stages use active-high FET drivers that source current when commanded high, and total internal power loss is limited to 2.5 W across all active channels. Short-circuit protection is integrated, so a faulted load line is disabled without tripping external fuses.
Channel organization follows four isolated groups of eight, meaning four galvanically separated blocks with eight outputs in each block. This segmentation prevents crosstalk and permits different reference potentials on adjacent blocks when necessary. The module provides a total of 32 individually addressable outputs, matching the bit width expected by Indramat drive controllers. Current limiting is handled internally to help prevent overstress on the FETs during inrush events, while voltage supervision relies on an internal monitoring circuit that disables all outputs if the 24-volt rail drifts outside its specified window.
