The RECO RMK12.2-IBS-BKL is a communication coupler module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. It serves as an interface between the local rack bus and the INTERBUS field network, allowing decentralized I/O stations to report process data to a central PLC without additional wiring. Within an automation cell, the module translates backplane signals into the serial telegrams expected by the controller, making it useful when modular machine sections must be linked together quickly.

The fieldbus connection is handled through the two nine-pin D-sub sockets on the front panel, and telegram exchange follows the INTERBUS protocol at the slave level. All internal circuitry is powered from a 24 VDC supply that may be routed through conductors up to 2.5 mm². The module electronics draw 2.5 A, while an integral 2.5 A fuse disconnects the feed under fault. Alarm signaling can energize an external load up to 100 mA maximum, so status devices such as relays or tower lights can be driven directly. The remaining installation parameters support predictable performance in mixed I/O stacks. Up to 15 additional RECO modules can be attached on the right-hand rail segment before a new power feed is required, and the bus segment tolerates a ripple of 4.0 Vss without functional errors. Environmental ingress protection is limited to IP20, so the coupler must be placed inside a closed control enclosure. A standard mounting rail size of TS 35 x 27 x 15 secures the housing and completes the protective earth connection, while the device continues to report as an INTERBUS slave through its dual connectors without extra addressing hardware.
