The RECO RME02.2-16-DC024 is a digital input module built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. It plugs into multi-axis drive racks and converts field-level sensor signals into logic levels that the controller can process. By furnishing additional sensor channels, the unit lets a drive system monitor limit switches, proximity detectors, and interlock contacts within an industrial automation cell. This supports centralized signal collection at the rack and keeps external device status available to the control system during normal machine operation.

Sixteen optically isolated input channels are provided, and the full bank operates on a nominal control voltage of 24 VDC. Signal discrimination follows IEC logic thresholds: a level of 17 V or higher is read as "high," while anything at or below 8 V is interpreted as "low." Each input draws no more than 10 mA in the high state, which limits loading on sensor circuits and helps the module work with common industrial sensing devices. The channels are arranged as two electrically separate groups, each containing 8 inputs, so different reference potentials can be handled without unwanted interaction between groups. Wiring is executed through 2 front-mounted plug connectors, and every connector carries 10 pins so that the eight signal lines, one common, and one protective earth can be terminated in an orderly layout. This arrangement keeps field wiring organized and preserves EMC performance inside the drive cabinet.

The enclosure is compact for panel layouts: it measures 41.3 mm wide, 81 mm deep, and 192 mm high, allowing several modules to be inserted side by side on the RECO backplane without exceeding the standard drive rack footprint. The depth leaves clearance for bent field cables, and the height aligns with adjacent power stages so ventilation paths stay unobstructed. Its front-access form helps maintain clear routing space in dense cabinets where multiple I/O and drive modules share one rack. The regular outline also supports straightforward placement next to neighboring cards without interfering with their connection area.
