Product Description:
The RECO RGM12.2-NN is a communication and supply module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RECO Drive Modules series. It acts as a fieldbus coupler that links distributed drive electronics to a higher-level controller and passes low-voltage power along the same bus rails. By combining data exchange with supply distribution, the unit streamlines cabinet wiring in industrial automation lines where decentralized drive sections must report status and accept commands through a common network. It is intended for installations where multiple modules must exchange control data without separate point-to-point wiring for each section.
The module communicates on the INTERBUS-S fieldbus and, as a slave participant, it offers two 9-pin male INTERBUS-IN ports and two 9-pin female INTERBUS-OUT ports so upstream and downstream segments remain electrically continuous. Control electronics draw their logic power from a 24 VDC supply that is galvanically isolated from the bus segment, and allowable ripple on that line is limited to 4.0 Vss to help prevent communication errors. The supply path is duplicated, so the module uses redundant internal circuitry that allows a second source to assume the load if the primary feeder drops. Because the internal power and signal tracks are galvanically isolated, the bus can operate at a potential different from the local machine ground without creating circulating currents.
The housing measures 214 mm in height, 81 mm in depth, and 41.3 mm in width, allowing it to fit beside other RECO modules on a standard carrier rail while maintaining airflow. A protection category of IP20 limits the unit to enclosed control cabinets where accidental contact and debris entry are already restricted. Two independent rings on the backplane support parallel data channels, so one ring can remain active if the other is interrupted. The compact housing also helps the module fit into dense control layouts without occupying excessive rail space.
