The MTS-R01.1 is a communication and supervisory module in the RECO Drive Modules series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Installed adjacent to motion drives, it mediates serial data exchange, status monitoring, and fault escalation between higher-level controllers and each axis. By consolidating drive diagnostics on a DIN rail card, the unit supports coordinated shutdown, parameter loading, and watchdog checks required in distributed industrial automation cells. It connects through a multi-standard serial interface and draws control power from the 24 V cabinet supply, permitting retrofit without altering motor power wiring.
Nominal logic power is supplied at 24 VDC, and the board draws up to 450 mA under full communication load. The upstream supply should stay within 4 Vpp ripple to prevent processor resets, and enclosure airflow should account for the board’s internal dissipation of 12.6 W. An IP20 rating means the module is intended for closed panels. Command and programming traffic share a common RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 port set, allowing the same serial connection to be used for setup and runtime polling. A dedicated watchdog relay contact switches 24 V at 150 mA to alert external safety circuits whenever the watchdog is not refreshed within the configured timeout, and the M5 protective ground stud bonds the shield to cabinet earth.
The housing measures 41.5 × 192 × 156 mm and weighs 1.00 kg, allowing it to snap onto a TS 35 × 27 × 15 DIN rail without additional brackets. One rear expansion slot is provided for future fieldbus or memory cards, and incoming 24 V wiring can be up to 1.5 mm² in cross-section. For copper continuity, fastening to the internal M5 ground stud is recommended before the system is energized. The serial trunk can enumerate up to 16 RS-485 nodes, which keeps additional repeaters unnecessary in small machine groups. Continuous operation is permitted at 75% noncondensing humidity, supporting stable logic links in typical shop-floor environments.
