The DAQ02.1M-FW module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. It serves as a communication interface that links multiple drive controllers to both Arcnet copper segments and fiber-optic trunks, allowing a central PLC to exchange process data, diagnostics, and synchronization flags with each axis in real time. By inserting the card into the RECO rack, the system can bridge copper and optical media without requiring an external gateway.
In Arcnet mode, the board uses a coax interface terminated on a BNC jack. The required trunk or stub cable must present a characteristic impedance of 93 Ω, which matches the electrical properties of the network. The onboard transceiver is high impedance, so the module does not load the segment when power is off or while it only monitors traffic. A removable T-BNC adapter permits inline insertion without cutting the bus. During operation, the electronics draw only 3.0 W from the backplane, minimizing heat generation in densely packed drive racks. A CLC-D host control card supervises message scheduling and isolates the axis processors from protocol timing.
When fiber links are preferred, the module provides an FSMA connector that accepts 62.5 µm multimode cable. The transmitter occupies a spectral window of 30 nm, which eases component matching between different optical sources. An optical path may include patch panels or splices as long as total attenuation stays below 12.5 dB. At the receiving diode, the logic registers a high level with input power down to -5 dBm and maintains communication until signal levels fall to -20 dBm; below this threshold, a low-input alarm is asserted. The companion transmitter can deliver -3.5 dBm on short links, reduce output to -7.5 dBm in high mode, or drop to -28.2 dBm when the low-power jumper is selected, allowing use on both short and extended runs.
