Product Description:
The R-IL SE BK is a bus coupler produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IL PROFIBUS Bus Couplers series. Installed at the head of an Inline station, it translates PROFIBUS DP process data to the local backplane so that digital and analog I/O slices can exchange signals with the controller. The device draws its primary 24 V DC input from the system power supply and routes logic power to successive modules, allowing distributed machine sections to share one fieldbus node while keeping wiring compact.
The molded polyamide housing is sized for control-cabinet rail mounting. Its width is 91 mm, its height is 120 mm, and its depth is 71.5 mm. An IP20 rating limits installation to dry, clean enclosures but permits tool-free access to tension-spring terminals for field wiring. On the data side, the PROFIBUS interface can forward up to 32 bytes of input data and accept up to 32 bytes of output data per cyclic exchange, supporting moderate-sized process images without segmented telegrams. A fiber-optic conductor is required on the SERCOS monitoring port for diagnostic forwarding. The unit weighs 200 g, so it adds little static load to DIN rails.
Internal power distribution supports expansion across the Inline station. The backplane can support up to 40 Inline station modules before a second bus coupler or power terminal is needed. The main 24 V line can carry up to 8 A through the coupler, while a separate 7.5 V DC logic rail supplies the ASICs and optoisolators. Additional limits include 0.5 A for analog modules and 2.0 A for logic consumers farther down the bus. Spring-clamp contacts accept the incoming supply conductors and route power to the downstream terminal without additional jumpers, simplifying machine-side assembly. This arrangement separates the primary supply from the lower-voltage electronics while preserving the shared power path used by connected modules.
