Product Description:
The R-IL PB BK DP/V1-PAC is a PROFIBUS bus coupler manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the R-IL PROFIBUS Bus Couplers series. It links a PROFIBUS DP master to inline I/O slices in automated machines. The coupler converts cyclic and acyclic telegrams into local data and distributes control voltage to the downstream terminals, allowing connected modules to exchange input, output, and diagnostic information with the master.
The IP20 degree of protection permits installation inside a suitable control cabinet, where the unit must remain protected from dust and liquids. The internal power path can conduct up to 8 A, so multiple I/O slices may be supplied without separate feeders. One PROFIBUS address can support up to 63 devices, allowing the coupler to serve an extensive node chain. The logic electronics have a maximum current rating of 2 A at UL, which is the total current available to signal processors and LED indicators through the backplane. During parameterization, the controller may transfer up to 168 bytes of configuration data, providing space for identification, diagnostic, and scaling values. At peak demand, the unit draws 1.25 A DC, while its no-load current is 0.15 A DC and its typical current consumption is 0.11 A DC during stable communication. The coupler can also address up to eight PCP devices for acyclic channel access.
Process images are exchanged in blocks of up to 176 bytes under DP-V1, supporting high-resolution analog data or combined digital payloads. Sensor loops that require analog excitation can receive a shared supply of 0.5 A at UANA, helping prevent voltage sag when several channels source current simultaneously. Each PROFIBUS frame carries a maximum service data unit of 64 bytes. The coupler automatically segments larger process images into appropriately sized transfers for transmission across the network. The product belongs to Class III for protective extra-low-voltage equipment and therefore requires an SELV or PELV power source for safe operation. This power arrangement separates the accessible circuits from hazardous supply voltages while supporting the connected inline terminals.
