The R-IL PB BK is a PROFIBUS bus coupler produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IL PROFIBUS Bus Couplers series. It links inline I/O terminals to a master through PROFIBUS-DP so that discrete and analog signals can be transmitted to higher-level controllers in factory automation systems. Serving as the gateway between field wiring and network traffic, the unit distributes supply voltages to downstream modules and passes process data to PLCs without requiring additional interface converters.
The coupler uses an analog supply of 24 V DC and draws up to 0.5 A, providing sensor power on the inline backplane, while a 7.5 V logic rail from the main feed supports its internal electronics. The main and segment circuits are both rated for 24 V DC, and wiring is connected through spring-cage terminal blocks that allow quick conductor insertion without ferrules.
