The R-IB IL AO 1/SF-PAC is an analog output slice manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IB Interface Modules series. Mounted on a DIN rail inside an Inline station, the unit converts digital process data from the controller into a regulated analog signal for field devices such as positioners or proportional valves. In industrial automation, it adds a single isolated output channel to distributed I/O chains, allowing precise current or voltage actuation directly from the bus.

It provides one analog output with a D/A conversion depth of 16 bit, so the controller can address 65,536 discrete steps across the selected range. For current mode, the slice supports 0/4 mA … 20 mA, while voltage mode spans 0 V … 10 V. Internal circuitry keeps linearity by requiring loads below 500 Ω in current operation and above 2 kΩ for voltage sourcing. The module refreshes its process image in < 1 ms, which supports tight closed-loop control when paired with rapid drives or regulators, and it transmits this data over the Inline local bus at 500 kbps. Each conversion is buffered, so control word updates are delivered to the field terminals without skew between successive scans.

The analog stage draws power from a 24 V DC supply labeled UANA and can consume up to 65 mA, while logic circuits are energized separately at 7.5 V DC from the local bus. This split feed helps preserve signal integrity by separating the analog supply from backplane noise. All wiring follows a 2-wire connection format that simplifies loop-powered field cabling. Protection against accidental contact is provided by the IP20 housing. The slim enclosure measures 135 mm high, 24.4 mm wide, and 71.5 mm deep, so multiple slices can be lined up without exceeding standard cabinet depth. Its narrow housing also leaves practical space for terminal access and cable routing when several Inline modules are installed side by side.
