The R-IB IL AI 8/SF-PAC is an analog input interface module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the R-IB Interface Modules series. Designed for use in distributed I/O stations, it converts field-level sensor current into digital data that a controller can process for monitoring and control tasks. By grouping multiple differential measurement channels in one compact slice, the module helps reduce panel space while supporting organized signal acquisition in industrial automation. It communicates through the local bus of the station and uses the backplane power available through the terminal assembly.
The module provides 8 analog inputs for current-based measurement signals and processes them with 16-bit resolution for fine signal detail. Its converter has a maximum 10 µs conversion time, which supports rapid updates when process values change quickly. Signal conditioning includes an analog antialias filter with a 3.5 kHz filter cutoff, which reduces unwanted high-frequency content before the signal is digitized. The analog circuitry is powered by a 24 V DC analog supply, and the current input resistance of 25 Ω is suitable for common 4 to 20 mA transmitters. Measured values are transferred to the control system as 32-bit process data words during normal bus operation.
