The R-IB IL AI 2/SF-PAC is an analog input interface module from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the R-IB Interface Modules series. It acquires and digitizes process currents and voltages so that an INTERBUS controller can use real-time measurements for monitoring and control. By mounting this unit beside other bus devices, a system can add two isolated analog channels without increasing cabinet depth. The identification code is used by the PLC configuration tool to reference parameters and diagnostics.

Each of the two single-ended input channels is converted by a successive-approximation ADC in 120 µs, allowing rapid updates for closed-loop tasks. The channels accept process supply from the segment’s 24 V DC I/O rail and withstand up to ±32 V without damage. With an internal resistance of 50 Ω, current inputs produce a measurable voltage drop that the converter scales. Standard operation supports ±20 mA signals, and input data are exchanged over INTERBUS at 500 kbps. The module also allows 40 V of common-mode potential between field and logic ground, and its acquisition path uses a 230 Hz filter cutoff so high-frequency noise is attenuated before sampling.

The digital section draws 625 mW on average from the communications supply, which is fed with 7.5 V DC through the backplane. Sampling stability is improved by 16-sample averaging, and the analog front end suppresses interference with a minimum common-mode rejection of 90 dB across the specified bandwidth. For heavier sensor loads, each channel tolerates momentary peaks up to ±100 mA, while continuous draw remains limited to the UL 45 mA and UANA 12 mA values for the logic and acquisition supplies.
