Product Description:
The R-IB IL AI 2/SF-230-PAC is an analog input module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IB Interface Modules series. Mounted on an inline rail, it converts low-level sensor currents into digital words that a PLC can process for closed-loop control tasks in conveyors, presses, and general machinery. The module expands a Rexroth bus segment without adding significant depth, making it suited for compact electrical enclosures. Its inline format also helps keep adjacent control hardware arranged in a narrow cabinet footprint.
Each module offers 2 single-ended analog input channels that accept current signals from field transmitters. The backplane provides 7.5 V DC communication power while a separate 24 V DC feed energizes the input circuitry, separating logic power from sensor supply. A per-channel impedance of 50 Ω matches common 0–20 mA loops and limits voltage drop along the line. Incoming waveforms pass through an analog filter whose -3 dB corner is 230 Hz, so higher-frequency noise is attenuated before conversion. The module averages successive samples, and the default window spans 16-sample averaging to reduce random fluctuations without adding noticeable latency. Spring-cage terminals clamp the conductors, allowing tool-free wiring and vibration-resistant retention on the DIN rail.
In operation, the station exchanges data in Process Data Mode where each channel is mapped to a 32-bit word, giving ample resolution for scaled engineering units. The inline bus supports a gross transfer rate of 500 kbps, so the data remains deterministic across the segment. The housing carries an IP20 degree of protection, so the module must be installed inside a suitable control enclosure. Even with full wiring, the module adds only 68 g to the rail, which helps limit mechanical loading in high-vibration machinery. The compact format also supports dense stacking of additional modules while keeping wiring runs short.
