The R-IB IL 24 DO 8-PAC is a digital output module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the R-IB Interface Modules series. It installs on an Inline rail and adds eight sourcing channels to a PLC's distributed I/O rack, allowing the controller to switch field devices such as solenoid valves, contactors, or indicator lamps in industrial automation cells. By placing output switching close to field devices, the module supports compact machine sections where control wiring must stay orderly and easy to route. This layout is useful in conveyor zones and similar modular equipment where remote outputs are needed near the actuators they control.

This unit offers 8 digital outputs, and each channel is powered from the field side while remaining galvanically isolated from the logic side. The outputs provide a nominal field output voltage of 24 V DC, and individual circuits are limited to 0.5 A per channel so protective devices can be matched to the connected wiring. The combined load is limited to 4 A total output current to keep the terminal conductors within their thermal range. Data moves across the Inline backplane at 500 kbit/s, and the internal electronics operate from a 7.5 V DC logic rail supplied by the bus coupler, while field power is fed separately through the segment supply terminals.

The housing has an IP20 rating, so the module is intended for installation inside a closed cabinet. Its dimensions of 71.5 mm deep, 119.8 mm high, and 48.8 mm wide allow dense mounting on standard 35 mm DIN rail, and the spring-cage terminals support 2-, 3-, or 4-wire connection methods for flexible field wiring. The narrow housing leaves room for neighboring slices and preserves access to adjacent terminal points in tightly packed control cabinets. A maximum backplane current draw of 60 mA max and heat dissipation of 0.45 W max help keep the added electrical and thermal load on the cabinet low.
