Product Description:
The R-IB IL 24/230 DOR4/W-PAC is a relay output interface module supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the R-IB Interface Modules series. It connects field devices that operate on either 24 V or 230 V circuits to a higher-level bus and provides isolated changeover contacts for digital control tasks in automated machinery. Because there are four relay outputs, the module can simultaneously control independent devices such as contactors, solenoids, or pilot lamps without coupling their reference potentials.
Each of the four floating single-pole double-throw contacts is driven by a coil that consumes 330 mW, allowing low-power actuation from logic controllers. Once energized, a channel can carry a steady 3 A of load current, while a short 6 A surge lasting 200 µs is tolerated during lamp or capacitive start-up. The internal electronics accept a 7.5 V DC logic supply, so no separate 24 V rail is required on the terminal strip. Load circuits may switch up to 253 V AC or 250 V DC, and the energy that can be commuted without exceeding thermal limits reaches 750 VA per contact set.
The module occupies only 48.8 mm of width on the DIN rail, with a depth of 71.5 mm and a height of 120 mm, so high-density cabinets can be built without extra spacers. An IP20 housing shields the circuitry from accidental finger contact yet remains ventilated for natural convection. Command changes propagate quickly: the contact response delay is 5 ms and the release time is 6 ms, permitting cycle rates suitable for sorting, interlocking, or transport applications. Standard PROFIBUS transmission at 500 kbit/s is supported through the back-plane connector, matching the segment's maximum data rate for this series.
