The PSI65C0.772-W1 medium-frequency inverter is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation lines that rely on EtherNet/IP control, the unit converts utility power into regulated medium-frequency energy for applications such as induction heating and resistance welding. Its water-cooled construction removes heat from the power stage, allowing steady operation during demanding production cycles. It is intended for integrated production equipment where power delivery and timing consistency affect weld quality or heating repeatability.
The power section accepts a three-phase input of 400 – 480 VAC, and the internal timing reference supports a standard of 1000 Hz so the output frequency can be adjusted in 1 kHz increments. Digital control is exchanged through RS485 and EtherNet/IP Next Gen interfaces, while an EtherNet timer coordinates synchronous events with external equipment. Response to on and off commands is rapid because the binary pilot recheck delay is only 5 ms, and the pilot sample delay extends that verification window to 20 ms. This arrangement supports coordinated switching in fast production sequences. Analog setpoints use serial input and output ranges from 1.00 to 4.15, providing proportional feedback without saturating the converters during normal regulation.
Machine I/O is mapped to discrete inputs E_00–E_25 and discrete outputs A_00–A_18, providing 26 sensing lines and 19 actuation lines per drive. These channels allow the inverter to interact with external sensors, permissives, and output devices in a fixed control scheme. A dedicated safety bit uses the logic pattern 0=E-Stop; 1=No E-Stop, allowing the controller to remove energy immediately when the stop chain is triggered. The unit can power 0 to 6 electrodes simultaneously through pressure output terminals X2.1 and X2.2. An RS-485 fallback path remains available for communication, and deterministic network messaging is used for synchronized operation.
