Product Description:
The PSI64C0.132-W1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It serves as the power stage in resistance-welding cells. It converts three-phase mains energy into precisely timed DC output that feeds the welding transformer and allows accurate heat input in automated production lines. The unit is intended for automated welding applications that require repeatable pulse control and stable transformer drive conditions.
The internal TriCore CPU executes current and voltage regulation in a control cycle of 1 ms, giving real-time control over every weld pulse. This fast update rate helps the controller shape current rise and pulse duration with tight timing. Communication with external PLCs uses discrete 24 V I/O, while a 24 V timer channel synchronizes squeeze, weld, and hold phases. The timing interface allows the welding sequence to stay coordinated with clamp force and machine motion. The inverter accepts a three-phase input of 400 – 480 VAC and draws a nominal line current of 220 A; when peak demand rises, it can deliver a primary current of 1600 A. Its switching frequency of 1000 Hz reduces transformer size and limits electrode heating. Cabinet losses reach 210 W at maximum output, with an additional 69 W of standby dissipation, and the water-cooled design can remove up to 700 W through the integral heat sink.
A closed-loop cooling circuit must supply 4 L/min of water through M16 × 1.5 ports arranged with a rear inlet and front outlet, and at that flow the pressure drop is limited to 0.6 bar. This thermal capacity enables weld currents up to 70 kA on the secondary side without overheating. The water path supports sustained operation during repeated weld sequences in high-duty equipment. Mains feeders with a cross-section of 95 mm² help keep conductor temperature within limits, and a program capacity of 256 parameter sets stores different schedules for material thickness or nugget geometry. Minimum and maximum cooling losses are logged continuously during high-duty spot, projection, or seam welding cycles.
