Product Description:
The PSI63C0.788-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase utility power into a controllable medium-frequency output for induction heating, welding, and other automation tasks that require precisely regulated current. Integrated water cooling keeps the power electronics within their thermal range, and an onboard TriCore CPU runs the regulation algorithms. Ethernet connectivity also allows operating data and settings to be exchanged through the plant network. That combination supports repeatable process control when load conditions change from cycle to cycle.
Cabinet heat dissipation is limited to 69 W at idle and rises to 110 W at maximum inverter duty, which helps with enclosure heat planning. Lower idle dissipation also reduces the amount of heat released into the surrounding cabinet air during standby periods. The liquid circuit uses water cooling, and a minimum flow of 4 l/min keeps the water-side pressure drop at 0.1 bar. The mains connection accepts three-phase input from 400–480 VAC, and the nominal line current is 110 A, which indicates the expected demand on the supply feeder. Control and diagnostic traffic pass through an Ethernet I/O port, and the power terminals accept large supply conductors without crowding the cabinet wiring.
During transient heating cycles, the inverter can transfer up to 420 W of cooling loss into the water jacket, so the coolant loop must remove that heat continuously. The primary side can conduct 800 A, while the matched PSG 3100 transformer allows a secondary current crest of 36 kA for coupling into low-impedance coils. High secondary current is useful where the work coil has very low impedance and short heating intervals. Feeders toward the inverter's DC link must use at least 35 mm² copper to limit temperature rise and maintain stable current delivery. This arrangement supports applications that draw large pulses of current without overloading the connection points.
