Product Description:
The PSI63C0.783-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains power into regulated medium-frequency output for automated processes that rely on controlled current delivery. A TriCore CPU oversees timing while an Ethernet, PROFINET-capable interface links the inverter to plant-level controllers. This control arrangement helps the unit maintain repeatable output behavior during automated operating cycles.
Incoming supply to the inverter must be 400 – 480 VAC, and under rated conditions it draws 110 A from the mains. Internally, a medium-frequency bridge produces up to 800 A of primary current, which is stepped to a secondary rating of 36 kA when connected through suitable transformers and electrodes. The switching section operates at 1 kHz, so the output current is smoother than with conventional 50/60 Hz sources, reducing thermal ripple in the load. The installation must include copper cables with a minimum cross-section of 35 mm², the unit can support networks of up to 32 electrodes through its dedicated program logic, and an internal timer coordinates pulse widths for external device interaction through the RJ45 connection used for status monitoring.
As a water-cooled design, the inverter expels up to 420 W of heat into a closed fluid circuit. Continuous operation is permitted when the coolant flow is at least 4 L/min, the inlet temperature does not exceed 30 °C, and system pressure stays below 10 bar. At the stated flow rate, the pressure drop across the cooling channels is only 0.1 bar, which helps keep the fluid loop efficient. The electronic section can store 256 individual programs, allowing rapid changeover between different jobs without external reconfiguration. The cooling circuit removes heat from the power electronics during sustained operation.
