Product Description:
The PSI63C0.776-W1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. As a cabinet-mounted power converter, it supplies controlled medium-frequency energy to induction heating, welding, and melting equipment in automated lines. The unit converts three-phase mains power into a regulated output while coordinating with plant controllers over Ethernet/IP. In industrial automation, this inverter provides precise current and frequency regulation so work coils or transformer primaries can respond accurately to changing process demands.
The inverter operates from a three-phase supply of 400 to 480 VAC with a mains nominal current of 110 A. A TriCore CPU manages vector and protection algorithms while switching the output at a cycle frequency of 1000 Hz for fine power resolution. Commands and diagnostics are exchanged through the Ethernet/IP interface, and the timing block uses EtherNet to trigger external devices with deterministic timing. Basic cabinet heat generation is 69 W, so water cooling is required. Power terminals accept conductors up to 50 mm², which helps limit resistive loss on high-current connections. At a minimum water flow of 4 l/min, the 25 kg enclosure stays within its operating temperature range, with only a 0.1 bar pressure drop through the internal channel.
During intensive heating cycles, cabinet losses rise to 110 W, and the cooling system must remove as much as 360 W from the semiconductor stack. The liquid circuit supports pressures up to 10 bar and requires inlet water no warmer than 30 °C to protect seals and connectors. Electrically, the drive section can deliver a primary current of 800 A, and the connected PSG 3100 converter can translate that into a controlled secondary current of 36 kA for large induction coils and resistance weld heads. The network interface and internal timing allow the unit to deliver short, high-energy pulses while maintaining controlled operation.
