Product Description:
The PSI63C0.760-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It serves as the power-conversion stage in automated induction heating, welding, and brazing systems, converting fixed-frequency three-phase supply power into controllable medium-frequency output for coils or transformer secondaries. A built-in EtherNet timer synchronizes the inverter with higher-level PLC sequences, allowing production cells to apply precise heat or current pulses during critical process steps.
Logic and sensor circuits are powered by a dedicated 24 V DC control supply, which helps prevent process trips when mains conditions fluctuate. The power stage can deliver a peak line current of 800 A, while the secondary circuit can reach 36 kA through an external step-down transformer. Heat generated during high-current operation is removed by a water-cooled plate exchanger attached to the IGBT stack. For electrical safety, the enclosure has an IP20 rating and must be mounted inside a closed cabinet. Incoming utility power in the range of 400–480 VAC is rectified and filtered before inversion, and MOV arresters suppress voltage spikes that might damage the DC link. Under nominal duty, the drive adds 69 W of cabinet heat dissipation, which helps limit the air-conditioning load inside the control panel.
Operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, after which derating is required. The cooling circuit must supply 4 l/min of deionized water and keep the inlet temperature below 30 °C to maintain semiconductor junction limits. A carrier clock of 1 kHz balances switching losses with output waveform quality, and the commutation pattern is referenced by the EtherNet timer for phase-synchronous operation. During overload, the cabinet can reject up to 110 W internally and another 420 W through external chillers. A nominal system current of 110 A sets steady-state conductor sizing for the 50 mm² terminal set and 35 mm² field wiring.
