Product Description:
The PSI63C0.758-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase utility power into controlled medium-frequency output so that induction heaters, welding transformers, or other process loads can be regulated by a higher-level automation system. By providing adjustable current and frequency, the unit fits into production lines where precise thermal or electromagnetic energy control is required. This operating method allows external controls to adjust delivered energy as process demand changes during automated production.
The inverter accepts a line supply of 400-480 VAC and modulates it at a carrier rate of 1 kHz. During heavy-duty cycles, it can deliver up to 800 A of output while keeping cabinet losses limited to 110 W. Water is the primary cooling medium, and the unit uses a water-cooled design that requires 4 l/min of flow through an M16×1.5 connection while restricting inlet temperature to 30 °C. Control electronics are powered separately between 19 VDC and 30 VDC, allowing the drive to remain active for diagnostics even when mains power is isolated. The terminal block accepts conductors up to 50 mm², and the recommended wire size for auxiliary circuits is 35 mm², which supports panel layouts that use large cross-section power wiring.
Continuous operation is rated at 110 A RMS, and the secondary circuit can tolerate transient peaks of 36 kA when driving step-down transformers. Ambient air around the housing may reach 55 °C without derating, and the enclosure carries an IP20 rating for basic finger protection when installed inside a switchgear panel. The unit weighs 25 kg, so the enclosure structure must support a substantial static load during installation. An integrated Ethernet-based timer coordinates firing angles with external controllers, helping water flow, mains voltage, and load current stay aligned during each production cycle.
